TOM BURLINSON (NSW)
In 1981 Tom was cast in the title role in the feature film ‘The Man from Snowy River’. It was an enormous box office success, and led to Tom being offered a succession of leading roles in Australian and international films and mini-series over the next several years. These included ‘Phar Lap’, ‘Eureka Stockade’, ‘Flesh and Blood’, ‘Windrider’, ‘Piece of Cake’, and ‘The Legend of Kootenai Brown’ as well as ‘The Man from Snowy River I I ’.
And then came 'Frank'. In Tom's own words... "After the success of ‘Frank’ it became clear that there would be an on-going demand for the musicians and I to provide entertainment for corporate events, to perform in concert for publicly-funded organisations and to appear at fund-raising nights for charities.
Thus we developed ‘Tom Burlinson - Swingin’ Sinatra Style’ in which we present a selection of songs from the show – essentially Sinatra’s greatest hits! I can be accompanied by a fabulous 16-piece big band for larger rooms or outdoor events, but we also have musical arrangements for an 8-piece ensemble if space is limited."
JAMES MORRISON
James Morrison is, by anybody's standard, a virtuoso in the true sense of the word.
Besides the trumpet, this multi-instrumentalist also plays trombone, euphonium, flugel horn, tuba, saxophones, and piano. He debuted in the USA at the Monterey Jazz Festival and later performed at Montreaux, Pori, North Sea, Nice and Bern - playing with Dizzy Gillespie, Cab Calloway, Woody Shaw, Red Rodney, George Benson, Ray Charles, B.B. King, Ray Brown and Wynton Marsalis to name a few.
He has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Royal Command performances for Queen Elizabeth II, and has performed for US presidents Bush and Clinton.
